Ministerul Energiei a emis vineri o alertă timpurie către Comisia Europeană: Există riscul opririi Reactorului 2 de la Cernavodă

The Romanian Ministry of Energy issued an early warning to the European Commission regarding low Danube water levels affecting the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant. Unit 1 has already been shut down, and there are concerns about Unit 2's operation. The alert will remain until water levels are safe, projected no earlier than August 15, 2026. Currently, there is no negative impact on the domestic electricity market, but a significant increase in electricity demand is expected. The extremely low Danube flow is nearing critical levels for safe cooling operations at the plant.
