The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported on incidents at the eastern border related to the Russo-Ukrainian war, detailing numerous drone incursions and attacks. Since the war began, over 100 attacks near the border were recorded, with 33 cases of Russian drones entering Romanian airspace. In 2026 alone, there were more than 40 attacks and 18 unauthorized drone entries, with some drones being shot down by Romanian F-16s.
