The miners were unhappy with their paychecks, which revealed lower wages compared to their previous jobs. Approximately 50 workers were transferred to Vulcan amid the closure of the Lupeni mine, seeking to continue working until retirement eligibility. Their dissatisfaction arose after receiving their first pay slips, which highlighted significant wage differences. This protest follows a previous incident in August when miners also remained underground due to transport reimbursement issues.
