The German government is exploring ways to utilize some of these funds for social projects, following models from other countries. If identification fails, funds may be transferred to a new social fund for community projects. Currently, there is no central registry for inactive accounts, making it difficult for heirs to locate them. Experts suggest keeping updated records of all financial accounts to ease future identification.
