Miliardarul Branson, patronul Virgin, rupe monopolul gigantului feroviar Eurostar - Economica.net
The UK's rail regulator has granted Virgin Group access to the HS1 high-speed line starting in 2030, enabling competition with Eurostar. Virgin Trains plans to operate up to 20 daily round trips between London and Paris, Brussels, or Amsterdam from October 1, 2030, to December 31, 2040. However, Virgin must first acquire rolling stock and secure safety approvals. Eurostar currently holds a monopoly on passenger trains through the Channel Tunnel, but other companies, including Trenitalia, are interested in launching competing services. The introduction of competition may lead to lower ticket prices for travelers.
