American billionaire Jeff Bezos is set to become a shareholder of English football club FC Liverpool, according to British media reports. A consortium including Bezos is nearing an agreement with Fenway Sports Group, the club's majority owner since 2010. Discussions led by Amit Bhatia, son-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, have been confirmed, although Bezos's involvement was previously unclear. Alongside him, Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin is also part of the consortium, which aims to acquire one-third of the club's capital. An official announcement from Liverpool is expected soon.
