Dropbox reported that around 5,000 accounts were compromised in a cyber attack last month, with hackers accessing stored content. The company confirmed unauthorized access occurred between August 4 and August 21, affecting accounts linked to Lenovo that lacked two-factor authentication. Following the breach, Dropbox closed all authenticated sessions via Lenovo IDs and reported the incident to data protection authorities. Lenovo acknowledged an outdated integration that may have facilitated the unauthorized access.
