Microsoft avertizează turiștii: hackerii atacă prin Wi-Fi-ul hotelurilor. Semnul care trebuie să te pună imediat în gardă
A new cyber espionage campaign attributed to Russian hackers targets public Wi-Fi networks in hotels and airports, urging victims to install fake updates. Microsoft warns travelers to avoid these networks, as the operation, named CaptiveCrunch, compromises internet infrastructure. The hackers manipulate DNS and HTTP traffic, redirecting users to malicious pages that mimic legitimate update requests. Once installed, the malware, CornFlake, grants attackers extensive control over victims' devices, including access to sensitive information. Microsoft advises using personal mobile connections and avoiding public Wi-Fi for sensitive activities.
