Metroul din București ar putea să nu mai funcționeze. Avertismentul lansat de liderii sindicali
The leadership of the Free Metro Union (USLM) warns that the metro service may cease operations starting September 16 due to a financial blockage at Metrorex. The company reportedly has only 3,000 lei in its accounts, jeopardizing salary payments for employees. USLM has highlighted that funds allocated to Metrorex will not last until the end of 2026, with a critical date for salary payments set for September 12. If salaries are not paid, employees may individually exercise their rights, potentially leading to a significant reduction in operational staff. The financial issues stem from delays in budget approval, with Metrorex seeking 63.458 million lei in subsidies for September. USLM claims that the necessary compensation for 2026 is around 1.27 billion lei, while only 750 million lei has been indicated by the Ministry of Finance. The union disputes claims that Metrorex is a financial burden on the state budget, emphasizing its multifaceted role beyond just operating trains.
