Metoda spectaculoasă prin care a fost identificată o victimă a atacurilor din 11 septembrie, după aproape 25 de ani
On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, New York City has identified a victim using genetic genealogy for the first time. This method combines DNA testing with genealogical research to trace an individual's origins and familial connections. The identified victim is an adult woman, making her the 1,654th officially recognized victim. Experts believe this approach could help identify more victims, as there are still 47 DNA profiles that may be matched through genetic genealogy. The city aims to honor its commitment to the families of the victims by utilizing innovative identification methods.
