Romania is facing a heatwave with extreme temperatures and tropical nights, affecting several regions. Meteorologists predict highs of up to 41 degrees Celsius and significant discomfort. A red alert has been issued for several counties, while an orange alert is in place for others, indicating persistent heat and humidity. Additionally, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall are expected in various areas, particularly in the Carpathians and northern regions. The heatwave will last from August 5 to August 9, with temperatures gradually decreasing afterward.
