While seven counties in the west face a red heat alert with temperatures reaching 41 degrees Celsius, meteorologists predict increased atmospheric instability. The hottest day is expected on August 6, 2026, with temperatures between 29 and 41 degrees. A yellow alert for storms and hail is in effect, particularly in northern Moldova and other regions, with wind gusts up to 90 km/h. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel during these conditions.
