Romania is experiencing its first snowfall as autumn approaches, with significant temperature drops expected. The National Meteorological Administration forecasts a decrease of 8-12 degrees Celsius, particularly in mountainous areas where snow and sleet are anticipated. Wind gusts may reach up to 90 km/h in these regions. A weather alert is in effect from September 21 to September 24, indicating strong winds, cooling temperatures, and moderate rainfall. The northern half of the country will feel the chill first, with temperatures dropping to as low as 2 degrees Celsius in some areas. Rainfall amounts could reach 10-30 liters per square meter, especially in the mountains where snow may occur above 1700 meters.
