Despite the AfD's success, collaboration with other parties remains unlikely. This outcome could mark the CDU's worst regional election result since 1949. In Berlin, the left-wing Die Linke secured 24.5%, while the CDU received 20% and the AfD gained 16%. Merz's future is uncertain amid low popularity and previous electoral setbacks.
