Meloni cere UE să-i dea o mână de ajutor Italiei în criza energiei: „Avem spațiu limitat”

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni urges the European Commission to allow governments to increase spending to support citizens and businesses facing rising energy costs. She highlights that European fiscal rules restrict the use of additional tax revenues for such measures. Meloni points out the significant rise in oil and gas prices due to the ongoing Middle East crisis, which has created a tense energy market. She emphasizes that inflation-related expenses, such as pensions, are increasing automatically, putting pressure on the budget. Meloni requests that part of the extra tax revenues be allocated for targeted measures to alleviate high energy prices. She reassures that Italy remains committed to fiscal discipline and seeks a discussion on this issue at the upcoming EU Finance Ministers' meeting.
