Doctors at the "Dr. C. I. Parhon" Clinical Hospital in Iași successfully transplanted kidneys from a 70-year-old brain-dead man, whose family consented to organ donation. The kidneys were suitable for transplant and were given to two patients. Despite the donor's comorbidities affecting the liver, the kidneys were in good condition. Dr. Adrian Covic emphasized the importance of even a few years of kidney function for patients with advanced renal disease. The case highlights the team's experience in handling complex transplant situations, with both recipients showing normal recovery post-surgery. The practice of using older donors for older recipients is also noted.
