Ion Negoescu, a priest, has also been brought in for questioning. He is linked to a complaint filed by businessman Răzvan Leu, who accuses Georgescu and Ionel Rusen of defrauding him of one million euros. The funds were allegedly intended for Georgescu's electoral campaign. The complaint, filed in January 2024, involves organized crime and fraud. Evidence suggests Georgescu may have led a criminal group formed in 2021, with investigations extending to the UK, Italy, and Switzerland.
