Cristian Bușoi, the interim Minister of Energy, announced the reactivation of group 4 at the Rovinari power plant to enhance energy supply security amid prolonged drought affecting hydro production. The group will contribute nearly 300 MWh to the National Energy System. Bușoi assured that coal supplies are secured for the immediate future, with plans to replenish stocks if necessary. He noted that there are no staffing issues for the operation of the group, although some retired specialists have been temporarily brought back. The situation on the Danube remains challenging, impacting the Cernavodă plant, with low chances of reopening Unit 2 in the next ten days due to ongoing drought conditions.
