Kaspersky has reported a significant cyberattack targeting Android-based car multimedia systems, spreading malware through compromised updates. This marks the first documented case of malware directly attacking car dashboards, controlling multimedia functions and potentially other vehicle operations. The malware, linked to the MoYu group, was distributed via legitimate software updates from DoFun, exploiting a system app to introduce malicious code. Experts warn that such attacks on automotive platforms are increasing, highlighting the need for enhanced cybersecurity in the automotive industry.
