Marea Britanie invită Germania în programul GCAP pentru dezvoltarea unui avion de luptă de ultimă generație • Newsweek România

The UK has invited Germany to join the GCAP program for developing a next-generation fighter jet, following a meeting between Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Chancellor Friedrich. This invitation comes after a failed Franco-German project and aims to share costs amid budget pressures. The GCAP program, which already includes Italy and Japan, allows for participation from other countries, with Canada recently joining as an observer. Experts see Germany as a suitable partner due to its increased military budget and existing collaborations. However, Japan may require further justification for expanding the program, as it aims for the new jet to be ready by 2035.
