Marea Britanie a cerut ajutor de urgență Franței pentru a-și asigura alimentarea cu energie electrică
The UK requested emergency energy assistance from France to secure electricity supply, asking for an additional 1,200 MW. The National Grid operator made two requests for extra power, which were approved. The first request was for 700 MW, followed by a second for 500 MW, both due to reduced capacity after a system component's restart was delayed. The interconnectors between the UK and France allow for energy transfer based on system needs. This is not the first time the UK operator has sought help, having issued warnings about electricity reserves recently. The operator assured that electricity supply remained stable and no consumers were left without power.
