A drone that entered Romanian airspace was shot down by an F-16 aircraft during a monitoring mission. The incident occurred in Buzău County after the drone was tracked for several days. The Romanian Ministry of National Defense reported that the F-16 engaged the target with a missile, successfully neutralizing it over an uninhabited area. The drone had been detected earlier and followed a specific route through the country. Four aircraft were deployed for the operation, including two Italian Eurofighter Typhoons and two Romanian F-16s, to monitor the situation and ensure public safety.
