Maia Sandu: Republica Moldova ar putea produce la Chișinău echipamente pentru doborârea dronelor • Newsweek România

Moldova is exploring options to enhance its defense capabilities against unauthorized drone and missile incursions, including the potential local production of detection and neutralization equipment. President Maia Sandu announced this initiative during the Moldova Security Forum, emphasizing the need for legislative changes to facilitate domestic production. In addition to local efforts, Moldova is also procuring equipment from abroad, supported by both national resources and international partners. The EU has allocated €120 million for Moldova's air defense, aimed at acquiring advanced systems, although delivery may take several years. Meanwhile, the Moldovan Parliament has approved a new structure for the National Army in response to increased airspace violations since the onset of the Ukraine conflict.
