The Romanian Ministry of Health is reallocating funds to cover urgent expenses, risking the financing of several health programs by December. Minister Cseke Attila highlighted the financial situation and measures taken to ensure medical service continuity. In September, 21.5 million lei were redirected to emergency units, and 20 million lei from the National Vaccination Program to ambulance services. An additional 98 million lei is needed for October, with significant amounts required for salaries and supplies. To address urgent needs, 56 million lei will be taken from programs like HIV/AIDS and maternal health, leaving them unfunded by December. Cseke emphasized the need for sustainable budgetary solutions, estimating a total financial need of 980 million lei for the year-end. He noted that a fully empowered government could have reduced this need significantly.
