The Ministry of Internal Affairs in Romania has launched a survey to gather public input on the features of the upcoming EU digital wallet, set to be available in 2027. This wallet will not only include digital identity but also various useful documents for daily life, usable across Romania and the EU with legal validity. Participation in the RO Wallet is voluntary, allowing citizens to choose what documents they want to include. The EU Digital Identity Wallet will provide a secure space for storing and sharing personal documents, reducing reliance on major tech companies. It aims to enhance user control over personal data while facilitating access to services across the EU.
