The Bucharest General Council has approved a new protocol for extending Metro Line 3 towards the west of the city. This document outlines the responsibilities of Metrorex, Sector 6, and the Municipality of Bucharest, facilitating the preparation of technical and economic documentation for three proposed sections. The project includes three extensions: M3 Păcii to the West Ring, M3 Preciziei to Chiajna, and M3 Preciziei to the Latin Quarter. The protocol establishes a partnership among authorities for project execution, including procurement for design and consultancy services. Metrorex will lead the initial phase by acquiring necessary design services and providing technical assistance. The project aims to connect densely populated areas in western Bucharest to the metro network, improving urban mobility and reducing travel times.
