A violent dispute over a sunbed on a Greek beach led to the death of an 82-year-old man after he suffered a heart attack during the altercation with a 76-year-old man. The incident occurred on September 20, 2026, at Akti Vouliagmenis beach in Athens. The younger man, accompanied by a 21-year-old woman, engaged in a heated argument that escalated into physical confrontation. Despite attempts to resuscitate the elderly man, he was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 76-year-old has been detained on suspicion of causing bodily harm resulting in death, while the woman was released.
