Lucrările pentru a ține Centrala de la Cernavodă deschisă au avut efecte limitate și ne-au costat 33 de milioane de lei

Efforts to keep the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant operational amid low Danube water levels have been largely ineffective, with costs potentially reaching 33 million lei. A report from the interministerial committee indicates that interventions, including barge operations, yielded minimal results, with only 1-3 cm gains noted. The report highlights that the natural decrease in water flow negated the effects of these measures. Additionally, a 150-meter dyke proved insufficient, and extending it to 450 meters was deemed impractical. Current water levels are significantly lower than when the barge operations began. The report also notes that the drought of 2026 was not anticipated by any available studies, and while costs are not fully centralized, various authorities have provided separate estimates for the ongoing operations.
