President Maia Sandu acknowledged a lack of majority support for unification among Moldovan voters, despite some personal support for the idea. Recent polls show 41% of Moldovans favor unification, while 72% of Romanians support it. The Romanian Parliament has expressed readiness to support reunification if desired by Moldovan citizens.
