Luca Niculescu, despre momentul în care „se va manifesta” unirea dintre România și Republica Moldova: „Eu vă spun foarte clar”

Prime Minister Luca Niculescu stated that the unification of Romania and Moldova relies on the will of the citizens from both sides of the Prut River. During his visit to Chișinău, he emphasized the importance of fostering connections between the two countries and the European Union. Niculescu did not directly address whether unification could serve as a 'Plan B' for Moldova's European aspirations but reiterated that it would manifest only if desired by the citizens. The topic of unification has gained traction, especially after President Maia Sandu expressed her support for it in a podcast, suggesting it could be a viable option if EU accession stalls. Recent polls indicate that 41% of Moldovans favor unification, while support in Romania is significantly higher at 72%.
