Lovitură pentru transportul maritim. Prin Canalul Panama vor trece mai puține nave, din cauza unui El Nino mult mai sever

The Panama Canal Authority will limit daily crossings due to an anticipated longer El Niño season, starting September 4. Initially, 34 ships will be allowed daily, reducing to 32 by September 15. This decision contrasts earlier statements about unrestricted navigation. The canal has seen a significant drop in rainfall and water levels, prompting these measures. The authority has also postponed previously planned reductions in maximum draft limits for ships. Administrator Ricaurte Vasquez emphasized the need for these restrictions based on past experiences with droughts.
