Locomotive noi de 90 de milioane de euro, fără călători. Ce le împiedică să circule pe căile ferate din România
The Alstom Traxx locomotives purchased by the Romanian Railway Reform Authority face operational issues due to problems with the European ETCS system, potentially hindering passenger transport. Although five of the sixteen locomotives are in the reception process, the ETCS system on the railway infrastructure is non-operational, causing the locomotives to stop when they detect ETCS balises. The European Commission aims for trains to use in-cab signaling instead of traditional signals. The Romanian authority did not request separate ETCS and PZB equipment, leading to compatibility issues. Pro Infrastructure Association urges the urgent activation of already installed ETCS systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
