Lockheed Martin dezvoltă rachete Patriot mai ieftine pentru combaterea dronelor

Lockheed Martin is developing a new, cost-effective missile for the Patriot system, aimed at addressing the rising demand for affordable air defense solutions. The PAC-3 Adapted Capability Effector (ACE) will be priced at less than half of the current PAC-3 MSE interceptors, which cost around four million dollars each. This initiative comes as military forces seek efficient and proven solutions to counter drones and other aerial threats. The announcement was made during the Farnborough Airshow, highlighting the increased demand for Patriot systems following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Lockheed Martin's move reflects the need to compete with smaller, more agile tech firms in the defense sector.
