Lituania vrea o bază militară permanentă a SUA și este dispusă să suporte costurile

Lithuania is ready to cover the costs for establishing a permanent U.S. military base if Washington accepts the proposal, according to Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevicius. This statement follows President Trump's indication that he will consider Lithuania's request for a permanent American military presence. Currently, the U.S. maintains a rotational battalion in Lithuania since 2019, consisting of nearly 1,000 troops. Sinkevicius emphasized the importance of a permanent U.S. military presence for deterrence and security, especially given the proximity to Russia and Belarus. The proposal reflects the security concerns of the Baltic states, which are NATO members and strategically significant for the alliance.
