Lituania își schimbă Constituția pentru a găzdui arme nucleare, în timp ce tensiunile cu Rusia cresc. Parlamentul a făcut primul pas
The Lithuanian Parliament has taken steps to remove the constitutional ban on nuclear weapons, aiming to strengthen defense against Russian threats. The proposal passed its first vote with 106 in favor, 18 against, and six abstentions. Authorities seek to amend Article 137, which currently prohibits both weapons of mass destruction and foreign military bases. This move aligns with increased military cooperation with NATO allies, including a permanent German brigade in Lithuania. However, the amendment requires a second vote, which cannot occur for at least three months. The final vote is expected on January 12, and while the change would lift the ban, it does not automatically mean nuclear weapons will be deployed in Lithuania.
