Listele de așteptare ale demnității. De ce, în România, accesul la o moarte fără dureri depinde încă de noroc
In Romania, only 1 in 6 patients needing palliative care receives state-funded hospitalization, highlighting significant disparities based on location and family finances. The lack of palliative services strains hospitals and affects patient care, with only 82 public and NGO beds available for around 15,000 children in need. Despite an increase in reimbursed hospital days, many patients remain without adequate support, as the funding per day is significantly lower than actual costs. This chronic underfunding leads to a reliance on luck for a pain-free death, as many families struggle to afford necessary care.
