The construction progress of section 2 of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești highway is currently at 17%, hindered by environmental permit delays. This section, spanning 31.3 kilometers, is complex, requiring seven tunnels and 49 bridges. Despite administrative challenges, work is advancing on two tunnels and several viaducts in Vâlcea County. The contractor is ready to proceed in other areas once permits are granted. The project, valued at 4.25 billion lei, is expected to enhance economic development in the region upon completion in 2028.
