The UDMR may condition its support for a future government on the rejection of a controversial flag law proposed by AUR. Csoma Botond, UDMR's deputy leader, criticized the initiative, calling it absurd and reminiscent of totalitarian regimes. He also dismissed the idea of a purely technocratic government, arguing it would struggle to secure parliamentary majorities. UDMR is open to a coalition with PNL and USR, supported by PSD, or a minority PSD government, but will not support a government reliant on AUR or similar parties. Anticipated elections are not ruled out, but Botond believes they won't address the underlying issues, as AUR could gain more support.
