Lider de sindicat, despre legea salarizării: După 35 de ani de experiență, un profesor ia 2.500 de lei în plus • Newsweek România
Laviniu Adrian Lăcustă, president of the Iași branch of the Free Trade Union in Education, expressed teachers' dissatisfaction with the new salary law in Romania. He highlighted that the negotiated salary scale for 2023-2024 was not implemented, leading to concerns over low coefficients and minimal salary differences between novice and experienced teachers. Lăcustă criticized the law for not providing adequate financial incentives, stating that a potential increase of only 2,500 lei after 30-35 years of service is insufficient. He also addressed the ongoing perception that teachers have excessive vacation time, clarifying that many engage in professional development and examinations during breaks. The union leader emphasized the need for a reevaluation of budget priorities to better support education.
