The Bucharest City Hall has launched a tender for the purchase of 79 new trams, valued at approximately 1.7 billion lei. This initiative aims to modernize public transport in the city. The tender will be published in the SEAP and is expected to attract bids from various manufacturers, including Skoda, which plans to offer trams equipped with pivoting bogies for enhanced passenger comfort. Additionally, a separate tender for 100 eco-friendly articulated trolleybuses has also been announced, funded by European grants. The deadline for submitting offers for the tram tender is set for October 5, 2026.
