Leul s-a apreciat în fața euro: cursul valutar anunțat de BNR

The Romanian leu appreciated against the euro but depreciated against the US dollar on October 19, 2026. The BNR set the euro at 5.3272 lei, down slightly from the previous rate. Meanwhile, the dollar was quoted at 4.7520 lei. The Bucharest Stock Exchange's BET index rose by 1.2%, reaching its highest level since late August, with OMV Petrom shares increasing by 2.3%. Analysts from Erste Group noted that the prospect of a fully empowered Romanian government led to a decrease in 10-year government bond yields, which fell by 14 basis points to 6.98%.
