Letonia interzice cărțile, ziarele și jocurile video din Rusia și Belarus
Latvia has enacted a national ban on imports of various consumer goods from Russia and Belarus, including books, video games, and clothing, to reduce economic ties with Moscow and limit Kremlin propaganda. This legislation is among the first of its kind in the EU, targeting items not covered by existing EU sanctions. The ban will also apply to goods imported through third countries if their origin is Russia or Belarus. The total value of the affected imports was 12.5 million EUR in 2025, representing a small fraction of Latvia's overall imports. The law will take effect the day after its promulgation and will remain in force until July 1, 2027.
