Leonardo Badea, prim-viceguvernator BNR, semnal de alarmă privind investițiile străine: Evoluția consemnată în primul semestru nu poate fi ignorată
Leonardo Badea, the first deputy governor of BNR, warns about a significant drop in foreign investments in Romania, emphasizing the need for economic predictability to regain investor confidence. In the first half of 2026, foreign direct investments plummeted to 669 million euros, an 82% decrease compared to 2025. The decline is attributed to negative contributions from reinvested profits, capital participation, and intra-group loans. Badea highlights that the negative trend in reinvested profits indicates a potential reduction in the profitability of foreign companies. He stresses the importance of a stable economic environment and early budget approval to attract investors, as foreign investments also facilitate technology transfer and integration into international production chains.
