Iranian lawmakers are drafting a bill to regulate traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, imposing restrictions on certain vessels and penalties for violations. The bill, currently under review, prohibits access to ships from the US, Israel, and other nations deemed hostile. It also bans transit of military or civilian cargo linked to these countries until compensation is paid. Violations may incur fines up to 20% of the cargo's value. Additionally, the Iranian government will charge navigation fees in local currency for permitted vessels.
