Legea porcului a fost modificată
The Parliament has approved amendments to Law no. 122/2023 concerning pig farming and African swine fever prevention. Transporting six or more pigs illegally will be considered a crime, leading to confiscation of the animals and the vehicle used. For illegal transport of up to five pigs, fines will apply. The changes aim to control the movement of animals lacking proper health documentation and reduce the risk of African swine fever spread. Compensation rules for farmers whose animals are culled have also been revised, with limits set based on the type of farm. Monitoring zones will be established around authorized farms, and veterinary services will be compensated for their role in managing outbreaks. The interim Minister of Agriculture emphasized that these measures aim to protect Romanian farms and minimize economic losses.
