The Romanian Parliament has adopted a law allowing the government to pay Pfizer debts, amidst political disputes over responsibility and misinformation regarding vaccines. The law passed with 198 votes, addressing over 600 million euros owed for canceled vaccine contracts. Political parties, including PSD, PNL, USR, and AUR, exchanged accusations about the debt's origins and vaccine misinformation. AUR criticized the law's emergence, while USR distanced itself from responsibility, claiming no health minister signed the contracts. Former Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete blamed PNL and USR for excessive vaccine orders. The proposal faced opposition, with AUR planning to challenge it in the Constitutional Court.
