The Romanian Senate has adopted a law requiring public officials' partners to declare their assets. The law includes amendments supported by PSD and AUR, which have faced opposition from USR and PNL. It mandates asset declarations for individuals in relationships similar to marriage and addresses conflicts of interest. The law will be promulgated but can be challenged in the Constitutional Court. It aims to enhance transparency and aligns with Romania's commitments under the PNRR. The National Integrity Agency will publish financial interest declarations within 60 days.
