Legea conturilor de economii și investiții: ce riscuri ascunse rămân pentru consumatorii de servicii financiare
The Romanian Chamber of Deputies has adopted the Savings and Investment Accounts Law, aimed at promoting long-term capital accumulation. While it offers significant tax benefits and protects assets from enforcement actions, it has faced criticism for transferring market risks to individuals and lacking guarantees for capital. Concerns include the absence of a contribution ceiling, which could lead to tax inequities, and potential penalties for early withdrawals that may financially harm consumers. Despite these issues, the law aligns with the European Commission's strategy for a Savings and Investment Union, aiming to convert passive savings into productive investments.
