The law eliminating high school entrance exams has been promulgated, prohibiting schools from conducting their own admissions alongside the National Assessment. This change follows extensive debates regarding the impact of parallel admissions on student access to preferred high schools. Education Minister Mihai Dimian previously indicated that the option for schools to hold entrance exams was not a recent initiative. The provision for such exams was part of the 2023 pre-university education law. The law was passed by the Parliament with significant support, leading to the complete removal of the entrance exam requirement.
