President Nicușor Dan has signed a law abolishing high school entrance exams organized by educational institutions. This decision follows criticism regarding the inequalities created by such exams, particularly benefiting students from families who can afford tutoring. The interim Minister of Education, Mihai Dimian, emphasized that the previous law allowed for entrance exams for half of the available spots, urging lawmakers to reconsider this approach. A new legislative proposal has been submitted to postpone the entrance exam for two years, while the Senate has already voted to eliminate it altogether.
